Teeth Whitening

Many factors can contribute to tooth discoloration, such as the use of coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, or certain medications. Teeth can also naturally become discolored over time due to aging.

Teeth whitening can effectively reduce these stains and discolorations, making your teeth whiter and brighter. Prior to starting the whitening process, it is strongly recommended to undergo a thorough (ultrasonic) cleaning and polishing treatment of the teeth by the dentist. By removing tartar and plaque, the teeth are optimally cleaned, allowing the whitening gel to effectively work on the clean tooth surface. It is important to note that teeth whitening works best on natural teeth. If you have restorations such as fillings, crowns, or veneers, they cannot be bleached and may need to be replaced to match the new color of your bleached teeth. Our dentist will assess your individual situation and advise you on the best approach.

Material

The material we use for teeth whitening is safe and carefully formulated to ensure no damage occurs to your teeth or gums. Our dentists will provide clear explanations of each step of the process and ensure that you achieve the best results without any risks of damage.

At-home whitening

For at-home whitening, you will use custom-made bleaching trays that fit perfectly to your teeth, allowing the bleaching gel to be applied evenly and efficiently to your teeth. These trays are made using impressions of your teeth taken by the dentist. You will be provided with a special set of bleaching gel that you apply to the trays and wear for 40-60 minutes. Our bleaching gel set is designed to minimize sensitivity. While some people may experience mild sensitivity, it is temporary and will resolve on its own.

At-home whitening treatment

We recommend performing the at-home whitening treatment consistently for a minimum of 2 weeks for optimal results. By consistently following the instructions provided by our dentist, you can achieve a significant improvement in your tooth color. On average, teeth can lighten up to 7 shades.

During your intake, you will personally meet the dentist at our practice. During this initial visit, a comprehensive oral examination will be conducted, which often includes taking photographs of your teeth. Following the examination, you can discuss any specific desires or questions you may have directly with the dentist.
